From a Cali guy to an Arkansas business owner — what a journey it has been! Larry (Shadrachs founder and CEO) and his wife, Risa, are both originally from the West Coast, but they packed up and planted roots in Jonesboro, AR with the dream of opening a coffee company in the Arkansas Delta.
Coffee culture in Jonesboro in the early 2000s was almost non-existent. There were no Starbucks, no Instagram to share complicated recipes and aesthetic drinks, and definitely no coffee roasters in NEA. Larry brought a completely foreign business concept to the area and trusted that God would bring his family through the tough years of starting up his dream coffee company.
With a mission to fuel souls in a chaotic world, Larry put his head down to work hard (and pray harder) through those first few years. His product alone is worthy of the hype, but what made his business stand out was the way he treated customers. Each customer is treated like a part of the Shadrachs family.
Larry operates his business with people as the number one focus, but great coffee and fun vibes are sure to follow.
